Community colleges are in growing demand at home and abroad.
- The federal government is interested in forming new partnerships in advancing the economic, political, military, and social well-being of America. It is also seeking ways to help stabilize the world condition in order to foster international peace and security.
- Four-year colleges and universities are holding dialogues with community colleges. They hope to create new cooperative opportunities to advance mutual interests.
- Businesses are under added pressure to locate providers of services (ESL, cultural sensitivity training, international language instruction, technical instruction, etc.) for their employees here and abroad.
- Over 90 nations have requested information or assistance in planning or implementing higher education institutions based on the American community college model.
