Eastern Iowa Community College District: A Case Study for Global Education

Adobe Acrobat Reader required.

The 1980s brought a significant downsizing to key industries in the Quad Cities area of eastern Iowa and western Illinois. This study shows how Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD) reacted by integrating the local economy into the global economy. For EICCD, this was the birth of global education on their campus.

The list of ensuing international/intercultural activities entails:

  • International students.
  • Technical assistance.
  • Faculty development.
This clear-thinking approach to global education is producing significant results for EICCD.
