Overview |
| This CCID Presidents' Visit, a collaborative venture
with the AACC Global Commission, will provide a delegation of up
to twenty top community college educators the opportunity to visit
the dynamic Indian cities of Bangalore, Chennai and New Delhi. On
the itinerary will be a Presidents’ Conclave presented to
SKIP (Skills for Progress). SKIP is a national organization of over
250 vocational/ technical colleges in India. A wide variety of topics
will be covered ranging from leadership to curriculum development
and to workforce development. |
| Meetings will be held with a Bangalore high tech firm, Nirmal
Jyothi Institute—a women’s community college, Consul
General Hopper in Chennai, the Vice Chancellor of the University
of Madras, Stella Maris College, representatives of the community
college movement in India, SRM Institute, the U.S. Ambassador, and
a representative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development to
discuss the current state of training in technical education in
India. Cultural experiences will be highlighted by visits to Mamalaporum
featuring ancient rock carvings and the Taj Mahal. |

Program Details
a total in-country price of at least $3,500 is anticipated
and it includes:
Single accommodations in 4 star hotels or better
In-country air and ground transportation
Airport pick up and transfer to hotels in Chennai
and New Delhi
All program activities including admission fees
for excursions
Once in India participants will be accompanied by John Halder, President
of CCID, and Bob Keener, CCID Presidents' Program Coordinator. Bob and
John will be handling program logistics and will assist you in any way
they can to help make your India experience as meaningful as possible.

Travel to and within
India
As participants will be arriving and departing India
at different times, it is their responsibility to contact
the appropriate hotel and make their own
arrangements for airport pick up in Bangalore and
to the airport in New Delhi. |
